Hi guys, today i am going to share slow cooker rich beef stew in ale. I hope you will like this recipe. So, without wasting any time move forward to the ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • Onions 2 large, diced
  • Two large chopped carrots
  • 2 large potatoes cut into chunks
  • Two chopped parsnips
  • Thyme a few sprigs
  • Garlic 1 clove, crushed ( optional)
  • Olive oil
  • Braising beef (such as chuck, cut into chunks)
  • Plain flour 6 tbsp, well seasoned
  • Guinness 500ml ( Guinness is very rich, you can use any Ale.
  • Beef stock if you want it slightly more liquid approx 100ml ( I don’t)

Method:

Toss the braising steak in the seasoned flour. Heat a little oil in a large non-stick frying pan and fry the beef in batches until it has a good colour on all sides. Transfer to the slow cooker when browned. Add the Guinness to the pan and let it bubble up.

Scrape any caramelized bits off the bottom of the pan then pour the whole lot on top of the beef. Add the rest of the ingredients. Then give everything a stir then cook on low for 6 hours until the meat is tender.

Dumplings…. 4 oz self raising flour.. 2 oz suet, pinch salt + mixed herbs
put all ingredients I’ve listed above into a bowl, slowly mix in enough cold water to form a firm dough, use lightly floured hands to roll mixture into six balls and put on top of casserole for last 30 minutes of cooking, lid on.

Add to slow cooker half hour before serving. It looks so delicious and i can’t wait to give a try to it. Thanks for reading the slow cooker rich beef stew in ale.
