Slow cooked Mongolian beef. Definitely beautiful, definitely one of my new favorites. Served with steamed rice and stir fry vegies.
Ingredients:
Braising steak cut into thin strips
30g cornflour
2tsp olive oil
65ml soy sauce
65ml hoisin sauce
65ml water
40g brown sugar
Dash of sesame seed oil
1 tbsp minced garlic
3 spring onions chopped
1 onion thinly sliced
1/2 tsp fresh ginger
Directions:
Pour beef strips into resealable bag with the cornflour & shake to coat evenly & set aside for 10 minutes.
Put oil in a pan and brown the beef for 2-3 mins.
Put spring onions, beef and onion in the slow cooker.
In a bowl mix the soy sauce, hoisin, brown sugar, garlic, water, sesame oil and ginger then pour over the beef.
Cook on low for 4 hours.
Serve with rice/noodles and stir fry veg.
