Texas Hash In Slow cooker 4 ingredient. My grandmother prepared this rice meal to make the money go round. To nourish the entire family, all that is needed is 4 ingredients.

1 cup dairy free cheese, shredded
-
along with 1/2 cup dairy free milk, blended

-
2 1/2 cups water

1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
-
1/2 teaspoon black pepper, to taste
Texas Hash In Slow cooker: Instructions
-
Over medium-high heat in a big skillet, cook the ground beef, stirring it up with a spoon, until the beef turns no longer pink. When it is very greasy, pour off most of the fat and leave a small amount of it to add flavor.
-
Add the onion that is cut into a cube to the skillet with the beef and cook 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently until the onion has been softened and becomes translucent. Turn off the heat.
-
Rub the inside of a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker with light oil. Add the uncooked, rinsed, long-grain white rice to the bottom of the slow cooker and spread in a uniform layer.
-
Combine the condensed tomato soup with water, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl and whisk thoroughly and well.
-
Add the tomato soup mixture to the rice in the slow cooker evenly. Gently push-up the rice using a spoon until all the rice is covered by the liquid.
-
Spread the cooked mixture of ground beef and onion on top of the rice and tomato mixture. Stir very lightly so as not to pack the rice down.
-
Close the slow cooker with the lid. Bake on LOW between 3 1/2–4 1/2 hours or until the rice becomes tender and the majority of the liquid is absorbed. Do not open the lid within the first 3 hours to allow the rice to steam accordingly.
-
When the rice is tender and fluffy and the mixture appears moist, even saucy (not soupy), take a light stir of it all from the bottom up to the top to loosen any rice which might have settled.
-
Add a little more salt and pepper if you think it needs more flavor. Stir and then serve the Texas hash out of the slow cooker, when it is hot and wet.
