A squeeze of fresh lemon juice on top adds a nice bright taste to the whole meal.

These cheesy slow cooker fish sticks turn a freezer staple into a warm, saucy dinner with almost no effort. Marinara sauce, melty mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese cover crispy breaded fish sticks as they cook low and slow. It’s a quick, kid-friendly meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights or lazy family dinners.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 24 frozen breaded fish sticks
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Slow Cooker Fish Sticks: Directions

  1. Get your slow cooker ready. If you want easier cleanup later, lightly spray the inside of the slow cooker with a bit of nonstick cooking spray. Then take your frozen fish sticks and lay them flat in one even layer across the bottom of the slow cooker. Try not to stack them, so they cook evenly.
  2. Add the sauce and cheese. Spoon the marinara sauce over the top of the fish sticks, making sure to spread it around so it covers most of the layer. Next, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top. Finish by sprinkling the Italian seasoning over everything so the flavor spreads through the dish.
  3. Cook on low heat. Put the lid on your slow cooker and set it to cook on low for about 2 to 3 hours. You’ll know it’s ready when the fish sticks are fully warmed through and the cheese on top is melted and soft. Keep an eye on the time, since leaving it too long can make the breading turn mushy instead of crispy.
  4. Serve it up. Once everything is hot and the cheese has melted, use a spatula to gently lift out each portion so the fish sticks stay in one piece. Place them on plates and serve right away while they’re warm. If you like, sprinkle a little more Parmesan cheese or some chopped parsley on top before serving for extra flavor.
