Slow Cooker Savoury Steak Recipe
Ingredients:
6 pieces oyster blade steak (there is a seam of sinew and I removed it down the middle of each piece with a sharp knife)
1 cup plain flour
1 teaspoon dry mustard powder (I used ready made and put it in with the sauce)
salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon of paprika
Mix the dry ingredients and coat the steaks.
Slice 1 large brown onion and cut into rings.
To make the sauce
In a jug mix together
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon vinegar
1/2 cup of water (I added a bit more when I stirred it after an hour)
2 beef stock cubes
Directions:
I sprayed the slow cooker bowl with a bit of oil and placed the floured steaks into the bottom of the bowl.
I placed the onion over the top
Then poured the sauce over the top.
I cooked it on high and stirred after an hour.
Then left it to cook for about 2 more hours on high.
Serve with mashed potatoes or rice, carrots and peas.
