Beef Goulash in the Crockpot

Ingredients:

1.8kg chuck steak diced
8 carrots cut into chunks
800g white potato cut into chunks
6 celery stalks
2 brown onions diced
8 cloves garlic minced
2 heaped teaspoons vegeta stock powder
500ml hot water
6 tablespoons tomato paste
2 heaped tablespoons Hungarian Sweet
Paprika
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 bay leaves
Sprinkle of Thyme

Directions:

I cooked onions, celery, carrots and garlic first until softened (on low heat frying pan) stirring regularly, only cook until onions are translucent.
I also browned the meat in small batches.
Then added all ingredients into the slow cooker on low for 8 hours.
I served with rice but also yummy on it’s own, with crusty bread or mashed potatoes.
This is a large batch which can feed a family for a few nights. You can halve the recipe if you don’t need this much. I will be freezing some too.
If you are time poor you could definitely just chuck (no pun intended) everything in and it will still taste nice! But I do believe the pre cooking helps with the flavour.
Happy cooking!
