  • fresh parsley, chopped (for topping) → 1 tablespoons

Loaded Steak and Potato: Directions

  1. Get the crockpot ready: Spray the inside of your crockpot with a little cooking spray so food does not stick to it. This makes clean-up much easier later!
  2. Layer the potatoes first: Put your diced 5 pieces medium potatoes, cut into small chunks at the very bottom of the crockpot. Spread them out nice and flat so they cook evenly.
  3. Add the steak on top: Place your 1.5 pounds steak, cut into small bite-size cubes right on top of the potatoes. Try to spread the pieces around so every bite gets some meat!
  4. Mix the creamy sauce: In a small bowl, stir together the 1 cups heavy cream, 3 tablespoons butter, melted, 2 pieces garlic cloves, chopped up really small, 1 pieces ranch or savory seasoning mix packet, 1 teaspoons black pepper, 1 teaspoons paprika, and 1 pinch salt. Mix it all up until it looks smooth and smells amazing.
  5. Pour the sauce over everything: Pour your creamy sauce all over the steak and potatoes. Make sure it gets into all the little gaps so everything soaks up that yummy flavor.
  6. Sprinkle on the bacon: Scatter the 0.5 cups bacon pieces all over the top. Bacon makes everything better — no arguments there!
  7. Slow cook it low and slow: Put the lid on the crockpot. Cook on LOW for 6 to 360 minutes
    360:00
, or cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hrs. The meat and potatoes will get super soft and soak up all the flavors.
  8. Add the cheese at the end: About 15 minutes
    15:00
before you are ready to eat, sprinkle the 1 cups shredded cheddar cheese all over the top. Put the lid back on and let it melt into gooey, cheesy perfection.
  9. Garnish and serve: Scoop it into bowls or plates and sprinkle some 1 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for topping) on top to make it look pretty and fresh. Serve hot and enjoy every single bite!

Notes

Tips for Kids and Beginners: Always ask a grown-up for help when cutting the steak and potatoes. You can use store-bought pre-cut steak to save time! If you like extra cheese, go ahead and add more — nobody will stop you. Leftovers taste even better the next day after all the flavors have had time to mix together. You can swap cheddar for mozzarella or any cheese you love!
