Ingredients

  • uncooked white rice → 1 cups
  • water (to cook the rice) → 2 cups
  • whole milk → 4 cups
  • heavy cream (makes it extra yummy!) → 1 cups
  • granulated sugar → 0.8 cups
  • raisins → 1 cups
  • large eggs (room temperature) → 2
  • vanilla extract → 2 teaspoons
  • ground cinnamon → 1 teaspoons
  • salt → 0.3 teaspoons
  • butter → 1 tablespoons

Creamy Raisin Rice Pudding: Making Steps

  1. Cook the Rice: Put 1 cups uncooked white rice and 2 cups water (to cook the rice) in a pot. Cook it on the stove for about 15 minutes
    15:00
until the rice gets soft and fluffy. Turn off the heat and set it to the side.
  2. Mix the Creamy Stuff: Grab a big bowl. Pour in 4 cups whole milk and 1 cups heavy cream (makes it extra yummy!). Add 0.8 cups granulated sugar, 2 large eggs (room temperature), 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 1 teaspoons ground cinnamon, and 0.3 teaspoons salt. Use a whisk and mix it all together really well until everything looks smooth.
  3. Put It All in the Slow Cooker: Scoop the cooked rice into your slow cooker. Toss in 1 cups raisins too! Now pour your creamy milk mixture right over the top. Stir it gently so everything mixes together. Drop 1 tablespoons butter on top.
  4. Let It Cook Low and Slow: Put the lid on the slow cooker. Set it to LOW heat. Let it cook for 2 to 150 minutes
    150:00
. Give it a little stir once or twice while it cooks. You’ll know it’s done when it looks thick and creamy — like pudding!
  5. Serve and Enjoy!: Scoop the pudding into bowls. You can eat it warm — it’s like a cozy hug in a bowl! Or put it in the fridge and eat it cold later — it gets even thicker. Shake a little extra cinnamon on top if you want. Yum!

Notes

💡 Tips for Kids (and Grown-Ups!): The pudding will look a little runny when it’s hot — don’t worry! It gets thicker as it cools down. If you don’t like raisins, you can swap them for chocolate chips or just leave them out. Ask a grown-up to help with the stove and slow cooker parts!
