I love looking at everyone’s recipes in this site but have never posted. I thought I’d share my family’s favourite Japanese Beef curry that I make in the crockpot. Enjoy!
Ingredients :
Gravy beef/casserole beef
2 onions, chopped
2 carrots, diced
2 potatoes, diced
1tbs soy sauce
1tbs ketchup/tom sauce
1tbs Worcestershire sauce
Salt n pepper
2 tsp of minced garlic
2 tsp crushed ginger
2 cups water
1 cup liquid beef stock
1 packet of curry roux (i use s & b golden curry in medium, but it comes in mild and hot also)
Method:
Dice beef, put in slow cooker, season with salt n pepper
Add the diced carrots, onions and potatoes
Add 2 cups water, 1 cup stock, stir.
Add the soy, ketchup, Worcestershire, garlic and ginger, mix.
Add whole box of curry roux, breaking it into pieces, submerge pieces in liquid, stir.
Cook on low for 8 hours or 4 on high. I usually start off on low for half the cook, then turn to high for the final few hours.
If the liquid is thin, add a cornflour slurry, I usually do this with an hour or so to go and it comes out perfect every time.
Serve with rice.
Enjoy!
