Crockpot Chicken And Dumplings

Crockpot Chicken And Dumplings turned out great.

Ingredients:

3 large chicken breasts
4 cups water + 4tsp better than bouillon (or you can use 4 cups of broth)
1 medium sweet onion diced
3 stalks celery diced
5 cloves garlic minced
1 can cream of chicken soup
Pepper, cavendars seasoning, garlic and onion powder, 2 Bay leaves, dried thyme
2 cups sliced carrots
1/2 small bag frozen peas
1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions:

Add veggies (besides peas), chicken soup, broth and
seasoning in crockpot and mix

Put chicken breasts in and cook on low 4-5 hours.

Shred chicken and add peas and dumpling dough(ill post the recipes for that seperately)

Turn crock pot to high and cook another hour to hour and a half until dumplings are cooked through.

Mix in heavy cream and serve.

Dumplings:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon, baking powder
1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
3/4 cup (6 oz) whole milk
1 tablespoon fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
1 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter, melted

Mix dry ingredients and then add milk and butter. Roll out thin and slice into small squares. Add one by one to crockpot, trying to keep them seperate and submerged in liquid. Cook 1-1.5 hours on high.
