Slow Cooker Spicy Tomato Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

3 Cans Italian Style Chopped Tomatoes
3/4 Cup of Water (Divide into thirds)
2/3 Cup of sugar
3/4 Cup of Rice Wine Vinegar (Can use White Vinegar)
I/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Paprika
1/2 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
(1 Teaspoon if you want a Hot Sauce)
1/2 Teaspoon Chilli Powder
(1 Teaspoon if you want a Hot Sauce)
1/2 Teaspoon Mustard Powder
1 3/4 Teaspoons Salt

Directions:

Pour chopped tomatoes into slow cooker, swirl 1/3 cup of water in each empty tin and pour into
cooker. Add sugar, Vinegar, Garlic, Paprika, Cayenne, Chilli, Mustard Powders and salt; whisk to
combine.
Cook on low for 12 Hours until mixture is reduced to half.( Place tea towel under the lid) stirring
every hour or so.
after it has cooked for the 12 hours, use a blender to make it smooth and creamy.(Strain if required)
Allow to cool for 30mins and then pour into pre-paired bottles or jars.
Allow to cool and enjoy can be kept for about a month.
Makes about 3 bottles at 400mls each.
I forgot to say when you do the blending part wait for it to cool a bit or make sure you take care otherwise if it splashes you it will scold you.

Question:                Looking forward to making this. Do the bottles have to be hot/warm when you put the sauce in and I presume you put lid/cap on straight away?

Answer:                  Yes sterilize the bottles and heat them up carefully.
If you are just going to use some soon as for Christmas BBQ allow to cool an pour into your squeeze sauce bottle it should be good for a month if refrigerated.
I am making the
Hot N Spicy Tomato Sauce tonight I will let you know how it turns out in the morning first taste test 3 hours in and I could feel the burn on my lips for about 10 minutes lol.
