While a roast chook is in the oven, I’ve put together a Slow Cooker Beef Stew Recipe for tomorrow nights tea.
Ingredients:
800g chuck steak cubed
200g punnet of button mushrooms,cut in half
8 brushed baby potatoes & cut into bite size pieces
2 carrots & cut into bite sized pieces
1 large brown onion diced
1 leek sliced
4 celery sticks diced
4 cloves of garlic,minced
1 ltr beef stock
1 sachet of tomato paste
Half teaspoon dried thyme
Half teaspoon vegemite
Directions:
I rolled the beef in seasoned flour ,browned it in the pan then added meat to slow cooker, cooked off the tomato paste with half a cup of beef stock to scrape the bits off the bottom, added to slow cooker, then cooked the leek, onion and garlic in the same pan then everything else added to slow cooker.

Slow cooker chicken curry
Recipe:
I cut up the chicken breast into small chunks and browned it in a frying pan for a few minutes. I then put it into the slow cooker with 2 chopped raw onions and some frozen peas.
I then made up the Mayflower curry sauce on the hob by mixing 170g of the powder with 900ml of cold water and heating it to boiling point with continuously stirring it.
I then poured that into the slow cooker and cooked it on a low heat setting for 3 hours with stirring it occasionally x
