How to Clean the ‘Element’ Part of Slow Cooker

Hi all,
I’ve been seeing a fair few posts asking about how to clean the ‘element’ part of your slow cooker and thought I would post what works for me.
The answer is GUMPTION!

NB. Do not use on stainless steel appliances

Here are the steps I take …
1. NEVER immerse in water.
2. Dip DRY scourer in the gumption(see pic below for amount).
3. Scrub gently in circular motions over the ‘stains’
4. Wipe over with a just damp cloth until you have wiped away the gumption residue (depending on how stained it is you will need to rinse the cloth a few times and repeat). Make sure you squeeze all water out each time so it’s back to damp and not dripping.
5. Wipe over with clean DRY cloth.
6. Wait 5 minutes then plug slow cooker in & turn onto AUTO or HIGH for 10 minutes(without the insert).
7. Turn off and let cool. Return the insert & store until ready to use.

Hope this helps ?
