Slow Cooker Red wine lamb shank ? i didn’t really measure any of the ingredients so i’ll just put a rough estimate
Ingredients:
2 lamb shanks
1 cup beef stock
1 cup red wine (just got a cheap $4 one)
400g tinned whole tomatoes
1 teaspoon crushed garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
1 carrot peeled and roughly chopped
2 sprigs each of thyme and rosemary
1 brown onion cut into chunks
Direction:
Heated :up some oil and garlic in a pan then browned the shanks.
chucked them in the slow cooker with all other ingredients and cooked on low for about 8 hours.
once ready i took out the shanks and veggies, then strained the sauce into a pan on medium-high heat on the stovetop to reduce, i also added 2 teaspoons of flour mixed with a bit of water to help thicken.
served with a garlic mash ?

Question: Did you put the vegetables in the slow cooker the same time as the meat. ??
Answer: yes i put them in at the beginning.
Question: What can you use instead of the wine as I’m not a drinker ?
Answer: you can substitute the wine for extra stock.
