Taco Meat Slow Cooker. This yummy slow cooker taco meat is super easy for busy days! Just brown beef or chicken with onion and garlic, then dump in spices, tomatoes, and broth. Let it simmer low and slow for tender, flavorful filling. Perfect for tacos, bowls, or nachos—family loves it every time!

What You Need (Makes food for 4 to 6 people)

  • 1 kg (2 lb) ground beef or ground chicken (meat that is already chopped into tiny pieces)

  • 1 medium onion, chopped up small

  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped tiny

  • 2 spoons of taco mix (or mix 1 spoon chili powder, 1 tiny spoon cumin, and 1 tiny spoon paprika)

  • 1 cup smashed tomatoes or tomato sauce

  • 1/2 cup beef or chicken juice (broth)

  • A pinch of salt to taste

  • 1 spoon of oil (if you want to make it brown first)

Taco Meat Slow Cooker Making Steps

  1. Make the meat brown (It’s best this way!)
    Warm the oil in a pan on the stove.
    Cook the meat and onion until it turns light brown.
    Put in the garlic and stir for 30 seconds.

  2. Put it in the slow cooker
    Move the meat mix to your slow cooker.
    Add the taco mix, smashed tomatoes, juice, and salt.

  3. Let it cook slow
    Put the lid on and cook:

    • On low heat: 5 to 6 hours

    • On high heat: 3 to 4 hours

  4. Last step
    Stir it all up good.
    If it’s too wet, take off the lid for the last 20 minutes.
