These slow cooker sloppy joe sliders need very little work, which makes them perfect for a busy night. You use simple foods you already have at home or can grab at the store, and your slow cooker does most of the job while the beef gets soft and easy to shred into a yummy, saucy mix. It tastes sweet and savory, just like a classic sloppy joe, but putting it on small slider buns makes it more fun to eat. These are great for game day, a casual party with friends, or any night when you want dinner to be quick and tasty.
You can serve these sliders with crunchy chips, pickle spears, coleslaw, potato salad, or a light green salad on the side. If you’re cooking for a lot of people, add a tray of baked fries or tater tots too. You can also put out extra pickle slices or shredded cheese so everyone can build their slider just the way they like it.
These slow cooker sloppy joe sliders bring big flavor with almost no effort. Ground beef simmers low and slow with a tangy-sweet sauce until tender, then piles onto soft slider buns for the ultimate comfort food. Perfect for game day, potlucks, or lazy weeknights, this five-ingredient recipe turns simple pantry staples into a crowd-pleasing meal everyone will love.
Servings: 8
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef (in tube packaging)
- 2 cans sloppy joe sauce (15 ounces each)
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 16 slider buns
Slow Cooker Sloppy Joe Sliders: Directions
- Get your slow cooker ready. If you want easy cleanup later, spray the inside of the slow cooker with a little nonstick cooking spray. This helps stop the meat from sticking to the sides.
- Add the beef and seasonings. Take the ground beef out of the tube packaging and place it directly into the slow cooker. Sprinkle the chopped onion and garlic powder evenly over the top. Squeeze both cans of sloppy joe sauce over everything so it covers the meat.
- Cook it low and slow. Put the lid on the slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for 2 and a half to 3 and a half hours, or on LOW for 4 to 5 hours. The beef should be fully cooked and easy to break apart when it’s done.
- Break up the meat. Take off the lid and use a big spoon or a potato masher to break the beef into small pieces. Mix everything together so the meat and sauce blend well. If you want the mix a little thicker, let it cook uncovered for another 10 to 15 minutes.
- Build your sliders. Scoop the warm sloppy joe mix onto the slider buns. Serve right away while it’s hot and enjoy!
