Slow Cooker Play dough ! Wish me luck.
softest & smoothest play dough ever!
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup salt
4 tablespoon cream of tartar
2 cups water
2 tablespoon oil
1-2 tsp food colouring
Directions:
Combine flour, salt & cream of tartar in a large bowl.
In a separate large bowl combine the water, oil & food colouring.
Pour dry ingredients mix into slow cooker bowl, add wet ingredients mix & combine thoroughly.
Place tea towel under the lid & cook on HIGH for 55 minutes, stirring often for the first half hour of cooking time, then once or twice for remaining cooking time.
Dough will be done when it forms & no longer sticks to the sides of your slow cooker.
You can test this by taking a small amount out, form into ball & cool in freezer for a few minutes. When it’s ready this won’t stick to your finger when you handle it. This small test ball can then be return to the mix.
Remove complete mix from slow cooker, knead & place in container to cool.
When cool, store in the fridge in your plastic air tight container.
This makes 1kg of play dough.
Vary the colors you use to make various coloured doughs. Add glitter for extra sparkle if desired.
Question: How long does it last after?
Answer: Hopefully a long time. As long as its packed away in a air tight bag it should last for ever.
Question: Where do you get cream of tartar from?
