Slow Cooker No-Bean Chili… Why We Love It…
My pals had a big fight about chili. What makes it yummy? Beans? Meat? Spicy powder? Or how thick it is? They didn’t agree, but it made me try this no-bean kind. Wow! It’s packed with beef and three spicy powders. It warms your tummy on cold days. (50 words)

What You Need

  • 3 pounds ground beef

  • 1 big yellow onion, chopped small

  • 2 big poblano peppers, chopped small

  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped tiny

  • 2 tablespoons chili powder

  • 2 teaspoons ancho chili powder

  • 2-3 teaspoons chipotle powder

  • 2 teaspoons cumin

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 cans (14 oz each) tomato sauce

  • 2 cans (14 oz each) fire-roasted diced tomatoes

Fun Toppings
Cheese, sour cream, tortilla chips, green onions, or avocado!

How to Make Slow Cooker No-Bean Chili

  1. In a large pot, cook the ground beef until it turns mostly brown. No pink left! Pour out extra fat. Put pot back on medium heat.

  2. Add chopped onion, peppers, garlic, and all the spices. Stir a lot. Cook 4-5 minutes more.

  3. Move everything to a slow cooker. Add tomato sauce and tomatoes (with their juice).

  4. Cook it on low heat for 6-8 hrs, or high heat for 3-4 hours.

  5. Serve hot with your favorite toppings!
