Slow Cooker Lasagna for Patriots Day: Easy Steps
Easy Steps for Yummy Slow Cooker Lasagna
- Grease the inside of a big slow cooker (5-6 quarts size) with spray or a wipe so food won’t stick.
- Add 1/2 cup sauce to the bottom to make it damp.
- Toss in all the broken pasta pieces. Try to lay them flat, even if they stack a bit.
- Stir ricotta cheese with 1/2 cup grated cheese in a bowl. Shake in salt or pepper if you like.
- Layer half the cooked meat over the pasta.
- Dollop half the cheese blend on next. Spread it soft—no need for perfect.
- Splash half the remaining sauce all over to soak the pasta.
- Pile on the rest of the meat, then the other half of cheese mix.
- Drizzle every last bit of sauce on top. Tuck any dry pasta bits under it.
- Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups grated cheese on top for that melty goodness.
- Cover with the lid. Set to LOW and cook 3.5 to 4.5 hours until pasta softens (test with a fork poke). Look for bubbly sides! Skip peeking too soon.
- Switch off heat. Rest with lid on for 15-20 minutes—it firms up nice.
- Scoop into bowls. Top with more cheese or green bits if you want. Dig in hot!
