Slow Cooker Golden Ale Pork Tenderloin (Just 3 Ingredients!). Some recipes seem way too easy to even write down. But they end up being the ones your family loves most. This slow cooker pork is like that in my house. My Irish grandpa made a dish just like this every single March. He would let the pork cook low and slow for hours. The whole house would fill up with a warm, yummy smell. We all knew a great dinner was coming by nighttime. With only three ingredients, you get soft, easy-to-slice pork sitting in a rich broth. The broth has a light, sweet taste from golden ale. This proves that simple cooking can still make an amazing meal.
You can serve this pork with creamy mashed potatoes, cooked cabbage, roasted carrots, or plain boiled baby potatoes. The potatoes are great for soaking up that tasty cooking liquid! If you want to keep the Irish feel, add a slice of soda bread on the side. It goes perfectly. For a lighter meal, put the sliced pork on top of egg noodles or next to some green beans. And don’t forget to pour some of the extra juice over your whole plate!
Servings: 4 to 6
Ingredients
- 2 pork tenderloins (about 2 to 2 1/2 pounds altogether)
- 1 packet (1 ounce) onion soup mix
- 1 bottle or can (12 ounces) golden ale
Slow Cooker Golden Ale Pork Tenderloin: Directions
- Get the pork ready. Use a paper towel to pat the pork tenderloins dry. This helps them cook better. Place the ingredients in the bottom of the slow cooker. Sprinkle the onion soup mix over the meat. Try to cover the top as evenly as you can. Slowly pour the golden ale into the slow cooker around the pork, not directly on top, so the soup mix stays in place.
- Cook it low and slow. Put the lid on your slow cooker and set it to LOW heat. Let it cook about 2 1/2 -3 1/2 hrs. The pork is done when it feels tender and reaches 145°F inside at the thickest part (use a meat thermometer to check). Try to watch the time closely and not let it cook too long. Pork tenderloin is a lean cut, so it tastes best when it’s cooked just right, not overdone.
- Let it rest. Gently take the pork out and place it on a cutting board. Let it sit and rest for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting. This step is important because it keeps the juices inside the meat. While it rests, you can spoon a little of the hot broth from the slow cooker over the top to keep it extra moist and flavorful.
- Slice and serve. Cut the rested pork into round medallion slices. Put the slices on plates or on a serving dish. Spoon plenty of the warm cooking juices over each piece before serving so every bite stays juicy and full of flavor.
