Slow Cooker Easter Drumsticks
Ingredients
- • raw chicken drumsticks (about 10–12 pieces) → 3.5 pounds
- • barbecue sauce (regular or honey-style) → 1 cups
- • honey → 0.5 cups
- • soy sauce → 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Layer the drumsticks: Lay your 3.5 pounds raw chicken drumsticks (about 10–12 pieces) flat along the bottom of a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. Try to get as many pieces touching the bottom as you can. A little overlapping is totally fine — just do your best to spread them out evenly so everything cooks well.
- Mix the glaze: Grab a medium bowl and stir together the 1 cups barbecue sauce (regular or honey-style), 0.5 cups honey, and 2 tablespoons soy sauce until everything blends into one smooth, glossy glaze. This three-ingredient mix creates the perfect sweet-and-savory coating that makes these drumsticks so hard to resist.
- Coat the chicken: Pour the sauce all over the drumsticks. Use a pair of tongs to flip and turn a few pieces so every drumstick gets a nice coating. You should see a small pool of sauce sitting at the bottom of the slow cooker — that’s exactly what you want.
- Slow cook: Put the lid on and cook on LOW for 5–300 minutes 300:00 or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked through and tender. The meat will come off the bone easily when it’s done.
- Optional: Broil for a sticky finish: Want that gorgeous, caramelized look? Transfer the cooked drumsticks to a foil-lined baking sheet and spoon a little extra sauce from the slow cooker over each piece. Broil in the oven for 3–4 minutes 04:00 until the glaze bubbles and gets slightly charred on the edges.
