Slow Cooker Chicken and cabbage (3-Ingredient Sauce). Soft chicken cooked slowly with cabbage in a tasty soy and garlic sauce. It is warm, yummy, and very easy to make for the whole family.
Ingredients
- Chicken thighs with the skin and bone still attached → 4-6
- Green cabbage, in pieces → 1 medium
- Chicken broth → 1 cup
- Soy sauce → 3 tbsp
- Garlic, minced (or garlic powder) → 2-3 cloves (1 tsp garlic powder)
- Salt & pepper to taste → as needed
Slow Cooker Chicken and cabbage: Instructions
- Prep the base:
Cabbage wedges can be put in the base of your slow cooker. - Add the chicken:
Salt and pepper the chicken thighs and put it over the cabbage. - Mix the sauce:
Chicken broth, soy sauce and garlic are combined in a small bowl. - Pour & cook:
Add the mixture into the chicken and the cabbage. - Slow cook:
Cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or 3-4 hours then HIGH and let chicken cook till tender. - Optional finish:
To achieve a crispy skin, one should broil the thighs of the chicken in the oven after cooking 3-5 minutes.
