Ingredients

2 1/2 to 3 pounds beef stew meat or beef sirloin, cut in 1- to 11/2-inch pieces.
2 cans (10.5- ounce) condensed beefy mushroom or cream of mushroom soup.
1 (1-ounce) packet dry onion soup mix.

Slow Cooker Beef Tips: Directions

Liberally spritz inside of a 5- to 7-quart slow cooking pot with nonsticky cooking spray so that it can easily be cleaned (not required).
Put the beef pieces in the bottom of the slow cooker in a uniform layer, and break apart any pieces that are stuck together so that they cook evenly.
Evenly sprinkle the dry onion soup mix over the beef, ensuring that fairly much of the meat is covered with a small portion of seasoning.
Add the condensed mushroom soup on top of the beef and seasoning. No water or milk required, the beef and soup will produce the gravy as it cooks.
Place the soup with the back of a spoon or a spatula in order to cover a large part of the beef. You do not need to stir it, it is a genuine dump-and-go dish.
Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on LOW between 7 to 8 hours or until the beef is extremely tender and falls to pieces with a fork. Cooking on HIGH takes 4 to 5 hours depending on what you want to cook; however, low and slow produces the melt-in-your-mouth texture.
When beef is tender, mix everything thoroughly to ensure the soups, seasoning and cooking juices have been on the beef and resulted in a smooth glossy brown gravy.
Taste the gravy and add salt and pepper as required but remember the soup mix is already salty. Put the beef tips and gravy on mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice, then warm it up.
