Slow Cooker Apple Pork Chops with Brown Sugar

Slow Cooker Apple Pork Chops with Brown Sugar. My Amish Friend’s Easy Pork Trick… My Amish neighbor showed me her grandma’s secret. She layers only 4 things for Sunday supper. The sweet, buttery topping melts into the meat. Tastes amazing!

Make tender pork chops in your slow cooker with just apples, brown sugar, and butter. Layer them up, cook low and slow, and get juicy meat in a glossy, caramel-sweet glaze. My Amish neighbor’s grandma trick—perfect for easy family dinners. Only 4 ingredients, no fuss, big flavor!

Makes: 4 servings

What You Need

  • 4 big thick pork chops without bone (1 to 1 1/2 inches thick)

  • 3 big strong apples, peeled, cored, and cut into slices (about 4 cups)

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter without salt, cut into slices

How to Make Slow Cooker Apple Pork Chops with Brown Sugar

  1. Rub a little oil inside a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker so the sweet glaze won’t stick.

  2. Put half the apple slices flat on the bottom.

  3. Sprinkle half the brown sugar all over the apples.

  4. Place pork chops in one flat layer on the sugared apples. Snug them in, but don’t stack.

  5. Cover chops with the rest of the apple slices. Tuck some around the sides.

  6. Sprinkle the last brown sugar evenly on top.

  7. Put butter slices on top, spread out so they melt over everything.

  8. Put on the lid. Cook on LOW for 5-6 hours. Pork gets super soft, apples turn golden and mushy, with shiny sweet glaze around the edges.

  9. Use a big spoon to lift out pork chops. Spoon apples and lots of glaze on top to serve.
