Ingredients
- cookies → Eight cookies (commercial or homemade)
- breakfast sausage → 250 g
- butter → 3 tablespoons
- general flour → 3 tablespoons
- milk → 2 1/2 cups
- salt → 1/2 teaspoon
- black pepper → 1/2 teaspoon
- lasts of garlic powder (optional) → 1/4 teaspoon
- chopped red pepper (not mandatory) → 1/4 teaspoon
Sausage Gravy and Biscuits: Instructions
- Bake the cookies as per package directions or until the cookies become golden brown.
- Cook the sausage in a large skillet in medium heat until it is browned and cooked in crumbles.
- Put butter in the skillet and allow it to fuse with the sausage.
- Add the flour and stir continuously and about 1-2 minutes to create a roux.
- Pour the milk slowly whilst stirring to ensure that there are no lumps.
- The gravy should be cooked with continuous stirring until it becomes creamy.
- Salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper may be added.
- Divide the warm biscuits into half and put them on a plate.
- Spoon the hot sausage gravy in large portions over the biscuits.
