Onion Pork Noodles Amish: Directions
- Using a single layer, place the uncooked pork chops on the bottom of a 4 to 6 quart slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the dry onion soup mixture across the tops of the pork chops in an even manner, as well as falling down the sides.
- Add the chicken broth to a bowl or a large measuring cup and add the condensed cream of mushroom soup and whisk them together until reasonably smooth. Pour this combination slowly on the pork chops and the onion soup mix.
- Top the slow cooker with the lid and cook with LOW setting 6 or 7 hours, or on HIGH setting 3 or 4 hours, until the pork chops become extremely tender and simply tear apart with a fork.
- Approximately 25 minutes to serve time, boil a big pot of salt water on the burner. Toss in the egg noodles and cook as per the package instruction until it is tender. Drain well.
- Use two forks to gently shred the cooked pork chops into large bite-sized pieces right in the slow cooker, then stir them into the onion gravy.
- Put in the drained egg noodles in the slow cooker and gently stir the noodles to effectively cover it with the savory onion gravy and combine with the pork.
- Cover and allow the noodles to be allowed to rest on WARM OR LOW to allow some of the sauce to be imbued to it, and then taste and season with a touch of salt and pepper (where necessary).
Notes
- Stir gently when mixing noodles to keep them intact.
- Taste the gravy before adding extra salt.
- You can reheat leftovers by adding a little bit of broth.
