Italian sausage and peppers with Penne Pasta. Everyone had seconds and this was gone in 10 minutes.
Ingredients:
5 pack of Italian sausage
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
1 white onion
olive oil
salt as you like
pepper as you like
2 cups (dry) penne pasta
4 tablespoon of butter
Directions:
Fry sausage in a large cast iron or non stick pan, when fully cooked sausage remove from pan, rest and slice into rings. Rough chop 1 red bell pepper & 1 green bell pepper & 1 white onion with some olive oil, salt/pepper, and sauté until soft but not soggy. Prepare 2 cups (dry) penne pasta according to package instructions. Once pasta is done and veggies are soft, add everything plus sausages back into pan. Add 4 tabs of butter & some red pepper flakes. Stir and continue to fry until well mixed. Season with s&p to taste. I also deglazed the pan with some chicken stock. Cost about $8 and fed a very hungry family of 4. Enjoy!
