Italian Drunken Noodles: Making Steps

  1. Cook the sausage: Put a pan on the stove on medium heat. Add the 1 pounds Italian sausage, casings removed and break it into little pieces while it cooks. Keep stirring until it turns brown all over. This makes it taste really good!
  2. Move everything to the slow cooker: Scoop the cooked sausage into your slow cooker. Now add the 1 pieces large onion, sliced, 4 pieces garlic cloves, chopped up small, and 1 pieces bell pepper, sliced on top.
  3. Add the liquids: Pour in the 1 pieces can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz), with juice (juice and all!), then add the 0.5 cups dry red wine, 1 cups chicken broth, and 1 tablespoons tomato paste. These all mix together to make a super yummy sauce.
  4. Add the spices: Sprinkle in the 1 teaspoons dried basil, 1 teaspoons dried oregano, and 0.5 teaspoons red pepper flakes. Add a little 1 pinch salt and pepper. Give everything a good stir so all the flavors mix together.
  5. Let it cook low and slow: Put the lid on your slow cooker. Set it to LOW and let it cook for 6 to 420 minutes

. The whole house will smell amazing!
  6. Cook the noodles: About 20 to 20 minutes

before you want to eat, boil the 8 ounces wide egg noodles in a pot of water. Cook them until they are just a tiny bit chewy (that’s called al dente!). Drain the water and mix the noodles right into the slow cooker.
  7. Taste and top it off: Take a little taste. Does it need more salt or pepper? Fix it up! Then sprinkle 0.5 cups grated Parmesan cheese all over the top.
  8. Garnish and serve: Tear up some 1 pinch fresh basil leaves, for topping and put them on top to make it look pretty. Now scoop it into bowls and enjoy every single bite!

Notes

Want to change it up?

Lighter option: Use turkey sausage instead of pork sausage — still super tasty!

No meat? Skip the sausage and add veggies like zucchini and mushrooms, or use a plant-based sausage.

Different noodles: Wide noodles like pappardelle work great too. Gluten-free pasta is fine as well!

Creamier sauce: Stir in a small splash of heavy cream right at the end. It makes the sauce extra rich and silky — so good!
