Honey Pork Chops in Foil Packets Slow Cooker

Honey Pork Chops in Foil Packets Slow Cooker

Honey Pork Chops in Foil Packets Slow Cooker. My neighbor made these for Easter and would not tell anyone the secret. Only 4 simple things wrapped up in foil make a sweet, sticky glaze that melts right into the meat!

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless pork chops, about 1-inch thick
  • 0.5 cups honey
  • 0.5 cups bottled Italian dressing (zesty or Italian-style vinaigrette)
  • 2 cups baby carrots
  • 4 pieces heavy-duty aluminum foil sheets (about 12×12 inches each)

Honey Pork Chops Making Steps

  1. Set up your foil sheets: Put 4 pieces of heavy-duty foil on your counter. Each piece should be about 12×12 inches. Fold the edges up a tiny bit so the sauce does not spill out.
  2. Make the glaze: In a small bowl, mix together 0.5 cups honey and 0.5 cups bottled Italian dressing (zesty or Italian-style vinaigrette). Mix it very well until it becomes nice and smooth. This will be the sweet and tangy sauce that goes on your pork chops.
  3. Dry and season the pork chops: Use a paper towel to pat the 4 pieces boneless pork chops, about 1-inch thick dry on both sides. If you want more flavor, sprinkle a little salt and black pepper on each side.
  4. Add carrots to foil: Put some 2 cups baby carrots in the middle of each foil sheet. Split them up evenly so each packet gets the same amount.
  5. Place pork chops on top: Lay one pork chop on top of the carrots in each foil packet.
  6. Spoon on the glaze: Pour the honey and dressing mix over each pork chop. Make sure every chop gets a good amount, and let some of the sauce drip down onto the carrots too.
  7. Wrap up the packets: Pull the two sides of the foil up and fold them together tightly in the middle. Then fold and press the other two sides shut. You want each packet to be nice and tight so no steam or sauce can get out. This helps the meat cook up really soft and juicy.
  8. Place in slow cooker: Put all 4 foil packets into the slow cooker with the folded side facing up. It is okay if they sit on top of each other a little, as long as the lid can close all the way.
  9. Cook low and slow: Put the lid on and cook on LOW for 4 to 270 minutes
. The pork chops are done when they are very soft and the carrots feel tender. Try not to open the lid while it cooks — keeping the steam inside is what makes everything so good!
  10. Open carefully and serve: Use tongs to lift each foil packet out of the slow cooker. Open them slowly and point the opening away from your face so the hot steam does not burn you. Spoon the sweet glaze from the bottom of each packet over the pork chop before serving. You can eat right out of the foil for easy cleanup, or put everything on a plate and drizzle with extra sauce.

Notes

Do not skip wrapping the packets tightly — that steam is what makes the pork chops so soft! Heavy-duty foil works best so it does not tear. Leftovers are great the next day warmed up in the oven or microwave.
