French Onion Pork Chops 4-Ingredients In Slow Cooker. This is requested by my husband every week. The most tender, savory dinner with only 4 ingredients to prepare it.

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops (approximately 1 to 1 1/2 pounds in total) with the bones removed (3/4- to 1-inch thick)

  • 2 cans, (10.5-ounces) condensed French onion soup

  • 1 (1-ounce) dry onion soup mix

  • 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced

French Onion Pork Chops: Instructions

  1. Spread the diced onion on the bottom of the slow cooker (4-5 quarts) in an even layer. This creates a bed that keeps the pork wet and creates a tasty base of the gravy.

  2. Add the condensed French onion soup and the dry onion soup mix to a small bowl and combine it to evenly distribute the seasoning.

  3. Lay the pork chops on the onions that have been cut in layers in the slow cooker. It is ok when they overlap slightly but make them more or less flat so that they cook uniformly and remain tender.

  4. The soup mixture should also be poured over the pork chops with even distribution to cover all the chops and ensure that the onions are largely submerged in the liquid. Spoon should then be used to push onions down into the sauce where necessary.

  5. Top the slow cooker with the lid and cook on LOW 6 to 7 hours or until the pork chops are extremely tender and can be cut with a fork. Do not open the lid so the heat and moisture stay inside.

  6. After cooking, season the onion gravy with a pinch of salt and a few grinds of black pepper if needed.

  7. To serve, carefully remove the pork chops out of the slow cooker using a wide spatula without them falling apart and spoon the rich onion gravy and as much of the soft onions on top. Pour over mashed potatoes, noodles or rice to catch all the sauce.
