Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs → chopped up
  • 0.3 cups → mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon → mustard
  • 1 tablespoons → green onions → chopped small
  • 1 tablespoons celery → chopped really small
  • 1 pinch → salt
  • 1 pinch → black pepper
  • 6 slices → of soft white bread
  • 6 → lettuce leaves

Egg Salad Sandwiches:  Making Steps

  1. Break up the eggs: Put your 6 hard-boiled eggs, chopped up into a big bowl. Use a fork to smoosh them up a little bit. Don’t make them too mushy — it’s totally fine if you see some small egg pieces in there. That’s what makes it yummy!
  2. Mix it all together: Now pour in 0.3 cups mayonnaise, 1 teaspoons mustard, 1 tablespoons green onions, chopped small, and 1 tablespoons celery, chopped really small. Stir everything around until it all looks creamy and smooth. Make sure all the egg pieces get coated well!
  3. Make it tasty: Shake in 1 pinch salt and 1 pinch black pepper. Give the egg salad a little taste. Want more flavor? Add a tiny bit more salt or pepper. Your egg salad is all done now — great job!
  4. Build your sandwich: Lay out your 6 slices of soft white bread on a clean counter or plate. Put one 6 lettuce leaves on top of a bread slice. Then scoop a big spoonful of your egg salad on top of the lettuce and spread it around so it covers the whole slice.
  5. Put the second piece of bread on top to close it.. Press down softly with your hand so both pieces of bread stick together. You’ve got a sandwich!
  6. Cut and enjoy: Ask a grown-up to help you cut the sandwich in half with a knife. You can cut it into triangles or rectangles — whatever shape you like best! Put it on a plate and dig in. You made lunch!
