Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Fresh parsley for topping (optional)

Delicious Brown Sugar Chops: Directions

  1. Take your pork chops out of the fridge about 15 minutes before cooking so they can warm up a little. This helps them cook more evenly.
  2. Mix together the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Mix everything together until it looks thick and crumbly.
  3. Rub the sugar mixture all over both sides of each pork chop. Press it in gently so it sticks well to the meat.
  4. Warm the olive oil in a big pan over medium-high heat. Wait until the oil looks hot and shiny, then add the food.
  5. Place the pork chops carefully into the hot pan. Cook them for 4 to 5 minutes on one side without touching them. This helps a nice crust form on the bottom.
  6. Flip the chops over to the other side. Drop the butter into the pan and let it melt around the meat. Cook for another 4 to 5 minutes.
  7. Keep spooning the melted butter and glaze from the bottom of the pan back over the tops of the chops while they finish cooking. This makes them extra juicy and flavorful.
  8. Check that the pork is fully cooked by using a meat thermometer. It should read 145°F (63°C) inside.
  9. Take the chops off the heat and let them sit for about 5 minutes before serving. This keeps all the juices locked inside.
  10. Add some fresh parsley on top if you want, then serve it while it is hot. Enjoy every single bite!

Tip: These chops taste amazing served with mashed potatoes, steamed rice, or roasted vegetables on the side.
