This creamy slow cooker taco beef dip turns just five simple ingredients into a warm, cheesy party favorite everyone will love. Frozen ground beef, sour cream, taco seasoning, salsa, and cheddar cheese slowly cook together into a rich, scoopable dip. It’s easy to make, needs little effort, and is perfect for parties, game days, or family movie nights.

Servings: 10

Ingredients

  • 1 pound frozen ground beef block
  • 1 tub (16 ounces) sour cream
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) taco seasoning
  • 1½ cups salsa
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Creamy Taco Beef Dip: Directions

  1. Set the frozen block of ground beef into the bottom of your slow cooker. Next, add a big scoop of sour cream right next to the beef. Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over everything, then pour the salsa on top so it covers most of the beef and sour cream.
  2. Put the lid on the slow cooker. Cook on low heat for 4 to 5 hours, or on high heat for 2½ to 3 hours. You’ll know it’s ready when the beef is cooked all the way through and can be broken apart easily with a spoon.
  3. Take the lid off and use a spoon or a potato masher to break the beef into small pieces. Stir everything together really well until the beef, sour cream, taco seasoning, and salsa are all mixed evenly and look creamy.
  4. Add the shredded cheddar cheese into the mixture and stir it in. Put the lid back on and let it cook for another 10 to 15 minutes, just until all the cheese has melted and blended into the dip.
  5. Give the dip one more good stir to make sure everything is smooth and well mixed. Serve it hot right from the slow cooker, or spoon it into a serving bowl. Enjoy it with tortilla chips or your favorite dippers.
