Cranberry Balsamic Pork Chops: Slow Cooker: Soft pork chops are simmered for hours in sweet and tart cranberry sauce with the flavor of rich balsamic vinegar. This recipe will only take you four ingredients and a couple of minutes of your time. The slow cooker will do all the work, while the dinner is waiting for you.

This meal is effortless to prepare and requires almost no effort from you. The sauce seems quite fancy, but actually its preparation is very easy. Sour cranberries complement sweet balsamic vinegar perfectly. Moreover, there are many families who link the taste of balsamic vinegar with the autumn season. During the slow cooking process, pork is becoming so tender that you can easily tear it into pieces with your fork. The sauce becomes shiny, salty and sour.

If you are looking for an easy recipe of pork chops, then serve them on top of mashed potatoes, buttered egg noodles or creamy polenta. In this case, you will be able to eat the sauce along with the pork. Serve some greens alongside such as roasted Brussels sprouts, green beans or steamed broccoli. For an autumn dish, roasted apples or sweet potatoes would be the best choice.

Slow Cooker 4-Ingredient Cranberry Balsamic Pork Chops

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops, bone-in or boneless, about 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick
  • 1 can (14 ounces) whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 packet (about 1 ounce) onion soup mix

Directions

  1. Preheat the slow cooker, if necessary. If needed, grease the slow cooker pot lightly with cooking spray or oil. Place the pork chops into the bottom of the pot, creating one layer of meat. If you need to, stack some of the chops on top of others.
  2. Prepare the sauce. In a medium-sized bowl, add cranberry sauce, balsamic vinegar, and onion soup mix. Stir with a spoon to blend the ingredients evenly.
  3. Pour the sauce and cook. Pour the sauce mixture over the pork chops, using the back of the spoon to cover the pork with the sauce evenly. Cover with the lid and cook on low heat for 5-6 hours or on high for 2 1/2 – 3 1/2 hours. Pork should be extremely soft and tender when cooked.
  4. Sauce the pork and serve. Once the pork chops are done cooking, scoop some sauce on top of them. To make thicker sauce, transfer the liquid in the slow cooker into a small pot. Simmer the sauce for several minutes on the stove, stirring occasionally, until thickened and desired consistency is achieved. Transfer sauce back into the slow cooker and pour over the pork chops. Sprinkle with thyme or parsley, if you want.
