Corned Beef In Slow Cooker 3 Ingredient

Corned Beef In Slow Cooker 3 Ingredient. This is the secret that my Irish grandfather taught me. Only 3 ingredients in the pot and you will end up with the most delicious and tender dinner you are going to make this March.

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 3-4 pound corned beef brisket, including seasoning packet.

  • 1 (11-12 ounce) bottle dark Irish stout beer (as Guinness)

  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup water

Corned Beef In Slow Cooker: Directions

  1. Place the corned beef in the slow cooker with the fatty side facing up. In case of superfluous surface liquid of the packaging, you can dry it on a paper towel, but do not rinse the meat, as those salty juices are a great addition to the broth.

  2. Take the seasoning packet accompanying the corned beef and sprinkle the entire amount evenly over the top and around the sides of the brisket such that the spices spill into the bottom of the slow cooker too.

  3. Pour in the dark Irish stout beer (not over the top) of the corned beef or it will wash off the seasoning. Pour in enough water to half way up to sides of the meat, relative to the size of your brisket and slow cooker. You desire the meat to be in the liquid, but not to be entirely covered.

  4. Place the cover of the slow cooker over and cook on the LOW setting between 8 and 10 hours or until the corned beef becomes very tender and can easily be pierced with a fork. Do not remove the lid when cooking to ensure the heat and moisture is retained within it.

  5. When the corned beef is tender, take it to a cutting board with a lot of care to allow the juices to drip into the slow cooker. Wrap loosely in foil and allow to rest 10 to 15 minutes so that the juices are re-distributed.

  6. When the meat is resting remove all the fat on the surface of the cooking liquid in the slow cooker using the spoon. You may leave the slow cooker in WARM just to get the broth hot enough to serve.

  7. To make the corned beef as tender as possible, you can slice it against the grain in thick slices. Put the pieces again into the slow cooker or any shallow dish and ladle over some of the hot stout broth to keep everything moist and delicious.

  8. Drizzle with the additional cooking juices on the side and serve the corned beef which has been sliced in the slow cooker.
