Chicken and Dumplings Slow Cooker
My grandma’s easy chicken and dumplings… My grandma made this yummy dish when money was tight but we wanted something warm and full. It’s like a big hug in a bowl—pure home comfort. Only 4 things to make, and the family loves it!
This super-easy slow cooker meal uses just chicken, soup, broth, and biscuits. Chicken gets soft and shreddy in a creamy gravy. Biscuits turn into fluffy dumplings. It’s cheap, filling, and tastes like grandma’s kitchen. Perfect for busy nights—serve with pepper and a green veggie side.

How to make Chicken and Dumplings Slow Cooker
Step 1: Put in chicken
Lay the chicken breasts flat in a big slow cooker (5-7 quarts).
Step 2: Mix the sauce
Stir the chicken soup and broth in a bowl till smooth. Pour it over the chicken so it’s all covered.
Step 3: Cook slow
Put the lid on. Cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 2.5-3 hours. Chicken should be super soft.
Step 4: Break up chicken
Use two forks to pull chicken into small bits right in the cooker. Mix it in the sauce. Add pepper if you want.
Step 5: Cut biscuits
Open the biscuit can. Cut each biscuit into 4-6 tiny balls, like big marbles.
Step 6: Add dumplings
Set cooker to high. Drop biscuit pieces on top. Push them lightly into the sauce, but not all the way under.
Step 7: Finish cooking
Cover and cook on high for 1-1.5 hours. Don’t peek for the first 45 minutes. Dumplings puff up and sauce gets thick.
Step 8: Serve it
Stir gently to cover dumplings in gravy. Scoop into bowls. Add extra pepper. Eat hot with greens or bread!
