Beef stroganoff and feta pies.
I used slow cooker and pie machine for these.
Ingredients:
750g Rump, cut into small chunks
Small blick of danish feta
2tbs oil
1/3 cup plain flour
1 onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic crushed
200g button mushrooms (optional) sliced
2 tbs tomato paste
500ml Beef stock
2 tsp sweet paprika
1 packet Short crust pastry
METHOD:
Place flour in a snap-lock bag. Add beef chunks. Seal bag and shake to coat. Remove beef. Place in a bowl. Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a large saucepan & brown beef. Put in slow cooker.
Add onion and mushrooms, paprika, garlic and tomato paste cook and stir
Add Beef stock and stir
Cook on low 2-3 hours
Remove lid as half hour, stir and cook for a further 30 minutes, uncovered.
Pie machine
Cut out pastry with cutters top and bottom
Put bottom in pie maker and fill with strog mix
Crumble feta on top and place pastry lid on.
Cook for 15 minutes then turn off and let pies sit in maker for 10mins
Makes 12
Take out and let cool a little before trying. Yum.
