Makes: 4 servings
What You Need
- 2 to 2½ pounds bone-in pork steaks (about 4 steaks)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (pick your favorite kind!)
- ½ cup chicken broth (or plain water works too)
- ¼ cup brown sugar, packed tight
How To Make BBQ Pork Steaks
- Step 1: Put your pork steaks flat on the bottom of your slow cooker. It’s okay if they overlap a little bit. Do not cook them first — just put them in raw, right from the store package.
- Step 2: Grab a bowl and mix together the BBQ sauce, chicken broth, and brown sugar. Stir it really well until the sugar mixes in and it looks smooth.
- Step 3: Pour that yummy sauce all over the pork steaks. Use the back of a spoon to spread it around so every piece gets covered really well.
- Step 4: Put the lid on your slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours, or if you’re in a hurry, cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours. The pork is done when it’s super soft and you can pull it apart easily with a fork.
- Step 5: Use tongs to carefully take the pork out. Be gentle because it will be really tender and might fall apart — and that’s a good thing!
- Step 6: Want thicker sauce? Take the lid off, turn it to HIGH, and let the sauce cook for about 10 to 15 more minutes. It will get nice and thick!
- Step 7: Pour the warm sauce over your pork steaks and eat right away. It goes great with mashed potatoes, rice, or corn!
💡 Quick Tip
Want it a little sweeter? Add a tiny bit more brown sugar. Want more tang? Add a little extra BBQ sauce. You can make it taste just the way you like!
