This Easy 2-Ingredient Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken will save your life on a busy weekday. Simplicity is the main characteristic of the dish it only needs two ingredients and a slow cooker, and you have a juicy and flavorful chicken that can be served at any time of the day. It is a meal that I resort to whenever I do not want to spend much time in the kitchen and more time with the people that I love.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts without skin and bones.

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce

BBQ Chicken Slow Cooker: Directions

  1. Add your chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.

  2. Take the chicken and pour in the BBQ sauce making sure that every piece of chicken is covered.

  3. Bake at a low temperature of 6-7 hours or a high temperature of 3-4 hours until the chicken is cooked and tender.

  4. When it is finished take two forks and shred the chicken in the slow cooker and combine it with the sauce.

  5. Accompanied with a side of your preference.

Variations & Tips

To add some spiciness, one can add a teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes or a splash of hot sauce to the BBQ sauce. You can use smoked paprika or a smoky BBQ sauce in case you want more of the smoky taste. Bell peppers and sliced onions may also be added into the slow cooker to add texture and flavor. To replace the protein of choice, use chicken thighs or even pork tenderloin.
