  1. Lightly grease the inside of a 5– to 6-quart slow cooker with oil or cooking spray.

  2. Place the potato cubes in an even layer on the bottom of the slow cooker.

  3. In a bowl, stir together the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, and onion soup mix until mixed well.

  4. Pour the soup mixture over the potatoes. Use a spoon to spread it so the potatoes are covered.

  5. Put the frozen meatballs on top of the potatoes. Spread them out as evenly as you can. No need to thaw them first.

  6. Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours.

  7. Check to make sure the potatoes are soft and the meatballs are hot all the way through.

  8. Stir gently so the potatoes and sauce mix well with the meatballs.

  9. Taste the stew and add a little salt or pepper if needed.

  10. Let it sit with the lid off for about 5 minutes if you want it a little thicker.
