Strawberry Dream Cake Slow Cooker: Instructions

  1. Took this to bunco night and three ladies were trailing me to my car posing questions.

  6. Pour the cake batter in large spoon ful over the strawberry layer and spread the cake batter gently with the back of the spoon. Keep some of the thin areas so that some of the strawberry filling can be bubbled up and make those nice pink swirls with golden baked patches across the top.
  7. Add the lid to the slow cooker, and put a clean kitchen towel under the lid just in case you are concerned that too much condensation will drip over the cake. Bake on a HIGH or LOW of 2-2 1/2 or 3 1/2-4 hours or until top has mostly dried with lightly browned spots and the center appears dry. The sides will be slightly more finished and the center will remain smooth and creamy.
  8. Switch off the slow cooker and allow the cake to cool, uncovered, in a period of approximately 10-15 minutes to allow the cake to thicken. Swirls of pink strawberry and squares of golden cake should be seen in the top.
  9. Pour the warm strawberry dream cake in the bowls taking care not to leave out the creamy cake and the strawberry. Garnish with some fresh slices of strawberry on the top (assuming they are available) and serve warm.
