Stew with herb & parm dumplings
Home recipe.
Ingredients:
1 kilo of gravy beef 1 inch cubes
2 onions roughly chopped
3 celery sticks roughly chopped
1 tsp paprika
3 potatoes roughly chopped
1-2 tsp of thyme & rosemary
3 carrots roughly chopped
1 bay leaf
Worstershire sauce I add loads but 1 tbsp. approx.
2-3 cups of beef stock
1/4 cup flour
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
Brown off meat.
Chuck everything in for 8 hours on low or 3-4 high.
Dumplings:
2 cups of self raising flour
80g butter chilled
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup parmigiana grated
1/4 cup parsley
Directions:
Pour flour into bowl & cut up cubes of butter. Rub together with fingers until combined.
Mix in parsley & cheese & add half the milk & mix with a butter knife till it starts to come together. Add rest of the milk & mix until ingredients come together.
Shape mixture into balls however you desire & place them on top of the stew.
Add more cheese to the top of the dumplings.
Move the slow cooker bowl into a preheated oven of 180c for about 25 min. Dumplings will rise taste awesome.
