I hope you are doing well, today i am going to share slow cooker whole chicken recipe with you. So without wasting any time move toward the ingredients.
Ingredients:
- 1 chicken
- 2 lemons
- 2 bulbs of garlic
- Smoked paprika
- Salt
Method:
Quarter the lemons and half the garlic, put half of each inside the chicken and the other half in the bottom of the slow cooker. Make a cradle out of tin foil and use it to lift the chicken into the slow cooker.
Season with salt and the paprika put lid on and cook for 6-8!hours on low (by accident I’ve had it in there for 11 hours and it was still perfect). Using the tin foil lift the chicken into a baking tray, spoon over some of the cooking juices and place in a hot oven for 20-30 min to crisp up skin.
Because I don’t add liquid I find the best use for the rest of the juices is to put them into a pan and add chicken gravy granules and water on a medium heat until it’s reaches your favourite gravy consistency. One the chickens done put a sheet of tin foil and a tea towel over to keep warm and let rest for 20min.
Mine was a casual roast today so only served with roast potatoes, carrots and peas but do whatever you like. I’ve done this in the morning before leaving for work and it’s allowed me to have a roast mid week which can’t be bad. Thanks for reading the recipes.
