Ingredients

  • pork chops → 4 to 1 1/2 pounds boneless or bone-in pork chops (approximately)

  • Cream of mushroom → 1 (10.5-ounce) can.

  • onion soup mix → 1 (1-ounce) packet onion soup mix

  • low sodium chicken broth (or water) → 1 cup low sodium chicken broth (or water)

  • sour cream → 1/2 cup sour cream

Slow Cooker Pork Chops & Gravy: Directions

  1. Arrange the chops of pork in the bottom of the slow cooker (4- to 6-quarter) in a single layer as much as possible. It’s fine if they overlap a bit.

  2. Use a medium bowl to combine the cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix and chicken broth until it is relatively smooth.

  3. Pour the mixture of the soup all over the pork chops ensuring that every pork chop is covered with part of the soup mix.

  4. Cook on LOW or HIGH depending on the tender and cooked pork chops, 6-7 or 3-4 hours, respectively.

  5. Once the pork chops are cooked take them out tho a plate and cover loosely with foil to keep warm.

  6. Add the sour cream to the hot cooking liquid in the slow cooker until the gravy is creamy. Taste and add seasoning (where necessary).

  7. Put the pork chops back into the slow cooker, and stuff them into the gravy, and allow them to rest on WARM some 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to combine.

  8. Top the pork chops drowned in the gravy on top of mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.
