Pour raw honey on raw beef roast, add 2 simple things, in slow cooker for a big family meal everyone loves!
This slow cooker honey beef roast is basic, yummy food that farm kids have eaten forever. Only four things, like a big beef roast and real raw honey, go right in the slow cooker for a filling dinner folks always want more of. The way to do it is super old-style: set the raw roast in the pot, drip honey on it, toss in two kitchen basics, and let slow heat make it perfect. It takes me back to farm Sundays, when the sweet beef smell filled the house while we did outside jobs.
Cut or pull apart the soft honey beef and spoon juices on top. It goes great with creamy mashed potatoes or noodles to hold the sweet-salty gravy. Try corn with butter, green beans, or crunchy slaw on the side. Soft rolls or thick bread soak up the good stuff, and fresh salad makes the plate full and just right for home-style meals.
Amish Honey Beef Roast Slow Cooker
Servings: 6

Ingredients
-
3 to 4 pounds beef chuck roast
-
1/2 cup raw honey
-
1 cup beef broth
-
1 small packet (about 1 ounce) of dry onion soup mix
Amish Honey Beef Roast Slow Cooker: Directions
-
Put the slow cooker pot on a flat spot, like a plain kitchen counter. Place the raw beef chuck roast in the bottom.
-
Drip the raw honey nice and even over the top and sides of the raw beef roast. Let it flow down to the bottom.
-
Shake the dry onion soup mix all over the honey-covered roast.
-
Add the beef broth around the edges of the roast in the slow cooker. Try not to rinse off the honey and mix from the top.
-
Put the lid on the slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours, or on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours, until the beef is really soft and tears easy with a fork.
-
Take the roast out carefully to a board. Scoop off extra fat from the top of the juices in the pot, if you want.
-
Cut or shred the beef, then put it back in the slow cooker. Stir gently to mix with the honey-beef juices. Let it sit on WARM for about 10 minutes so tastes blend.
-
Serve the honey beef hot, with some cooking juices spooned over each bit.
